Does Marketing Still Work in 2026?

The short versionFunnels don't work like they used to. What works is traffic plus a no-brainer offer, and the stronger your personal brand, the less you have to sell.

Did you know these marketing tactics don't work anymore in 2026?

  • Lead magnets
  • Free webinars
  • Email funnels
  • Long sales pages

People are smarter.

They just wanna click and buy.

So what DOES work?

It's all about traffic + offer.

More traffic solves all your problems.

Are you drowning in too much client work?

You need more traffic.

When you have 10x the prospects, you can pick the best clients and charge 10x what you're charging now. (while working 1/10 of the time)

Is your conversion rate too low?

You need more traffic.

You could spend all your time building a complex funnel and sales page and 2x your conversion rate which will at most 2x your revenue.

OR

You can spend all your time getting traffic, you can 10x or even 100x the sales and 100x your revenue.

So no matter how you flip it, traffic gives you the best ROI for your hours.

Why offer is king

Since funnels don't work, your offer has to do all the selling.

You need a no-brainer offer.

To do that, you need to understand what people see as valuable.

Alex Hormozi calls this the Value Equation.

It has 4 components:

  1. Dream outcome: What do your customers want?
  2. Perceived likelihood of achievement: How much do they believe you can deliver it?
  3. Time delay: How long will it take?
  4. Effort & sacrifice: How much work will it require?

Increase the perceived likelihood while reducing time and effort, and your offer becomes more valuable.

For example:

$100 course:
"Follow my daily posting schedule for 90 days to grow your Instagram!"

vs.

$10,000 coaching:
"Increase revenue by $10K/month within 90 days, or your money back!"

Which sounds like the better offer?

Obviously, the second one.

You either make $10K or get your $10K back.

It's a no-brainer.

Price doesn't matter.

What if you sell something with no outcome?

Like helping women become more confident.

Or, in my case, teaching people to become better storytellers.

You have two options:

1. Guarantee an adjacent outcome.

Instead of "become a better storyteller," I could say:

"Get your first 1M view post in 90 days, or your money back."

So why didn't I?

Because that would attract a lot of 20-year-old "wannabe" influencers who expect me to give them the "secret" to become famous and rich.

That would ruin the experience of my community.

So I chose the second route:

2. Don't sell an outcome.

I changed the value equation altogether.

I'm not selling a "dream outcome."

I'm selling access.

Access to me IS their dream outcome.

The rest of the equation doesn't matter because I can 100% GUARANTEE access to me (as long as I'm still alive).

But what if people won't buy access to you?

That's where trust becomes part of the equation.

When people trust you, they believe they can achieve their dream outcome simply by having access to you.

And that's why we invest in our personal brand.

The stronger your personal brand, the less you have to sell.

I've helped clients like Mel Robbins and Jay Shetty with their personal brand strategy before they were famous.
