How do I repeat key anchor phrases?

Short answerPick one anchor word or phrase and repeat it across your whole piece so readers know every time they see it, you're referring to the same idea. That's how you tie the myth, truth, and example together.

Why anchoring works

  • Repeating one word creates a rhythm, and when you flip it in the truth, the contrast hits harder.
  • A familiar phrase already carries meaning, so mixing it with your idea does the work without extra explanation.

How to do it

  • Find the concept that keeps repeating in your story, then pick one word or phrase for it and stick to it.
  • Use that same anchor to link the myth to the truth, and then to the example or final lesson.
  • Keep tweaking the phrase until it connects one idea to the next -- Sun calls this anchoring and realigning.

When I looked at this carousel, I noticed it needed an anchor word to hold it together. I chose the word "you." You are the only one who can fix this. You are the best at this. The truth is you are doing it for your own validation. Repeating that one word creates a rhythm. It also makes the contrast land harder when you flip it. The reader feels the pattern, and then the truth hits differently because it uses the same word in a new way. This is different from just listing examples. Anchoring means you pick one word or phrase and you let it carry the structure of the whole piece. When your anchor is strong, you don't need as many slides. The message gets cleaner and more powerful with less.

Try itOpen a carousel draft in Story Bank and pick one word that names your core idea, then check that it shows up on the myth slide, the truth slide, and the example.
