How do I write a hook?
Short answerWrite the hook last. Get your message right first, then figure out how to package it so people stop scrolling.
Write Message First
- Sun writes the hook at the end, after he already knows his message.
- If you start with the hook, you end up changing your message to fit the package, like YouTubers do.
Make It Specific and Mysterious
- A good hook is specific so people know what they'll get, but mysterious so they have to know more.
- The word "this" is one of the most powerful hook words because it hides the answer.
- You have maybe one second to stop someone mid-scroll, so get into what they're already asking.
